State Rep Speaks on Democrats' Illinois Stay

One of the Indiana House Democrats staying away from the statehouse to protest the Republican majority's legislative agenda is offering some insight on their stay in Urbana, Illinois.

State Representative Linda Lawson of Hammond says she and her colleagues left Indianapolis so quickly that they had to shop for clothes and medicine.

Lawson also says they've been amused by the media circus around them.  She says there are sometimes a dozen media trucks outside their hotel and they have to duck back inside their meeting room when camera crews approach them.

Lawson says House Democrats established a Facebook page to inform constituents about their views.  She says their boycott of the legislative session is their way to protest what she sees as a nationwide public employees' union-busting effort.
