Bruno Junqueira has been removed from this year's Indianapolis 500. Ryan Hunter-Reay will replace Junqueira in A.J. Foyt's Number 41 car after being bumped off the starting grid by teammate Marco Andretti.
Junqueira, speaking with JMV on 1070 The Fan, says he's proud of what he accomplished by qualifying for the Indy 500.
"I did my job very well again, qualifying the car on the first day on this 500 so I just did everything right. You know, I'm not ashamed of anything that has happened with me so I earned my place there but unfortunately I'm not going to race."
Junqueira says he's always thankful for the opportunity to race in the 500. He says he'll be cheering for teammate Vitor Meira in the race.
Hunter-Reay, who normally races for Andretti Autosport, thanked Junqueira for his efforts and says it's "cool" to be driving for Foyt again, especially with Michael Andretti's support. Hunter-Reay raced for Foyt in 2009, replacing Meira who was injured after a crash in that year's 500.
