The American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis sent more than a dozen volunteers and staffers to the scene of the collapse at the Indiana State Fair.
Spokesperson Brooke Riester says they arrived specifically to aid in the search for missing people.
Riester says the downtown Indianapolis chapter at 441 East 10th Street will remain open for those seeking loved ones.
In addition, the public can call the Red Cross at 317-684-4305 to get information about a missing friend or family member, as it becomes available.
Riester says even staffers were shaken by the incident at the fairgrounds. She says the helped at least one child hurt in the incident.
The Red Cross anticipates remaining on the scene until Sunday morning.
