Death of Infant Ruled Homicide

IMPD is investigating the death of a 2 1/2 month old baby as a homicide.
IMPD Officers were called last Friday to 9841 Gatewood Court, near 21st and Mitthoeffer on the city's east side, and were met by 22-year-old Briana Shelton.
Officers found a baby boy naked and unresponsive on the living room floor. Officers performed CPR before the baby was taken to Community East Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Marion County Coroner ruled the infant died of cerebral anoxia from blunt force trauma. Police say the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
