A new WISH-TV/Franklin College poll gives Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard a double-digit lead over his Democratic challenger Melina Kennedy.
Appearing on Indy's Morning News on 93 WIBC Thursday, IUPUI Political Science professor Brian Vargus says he doesn't know whether to believe the results.
Listen to the interview:
"They did not tell you the questions that they asked. They don't say how they established that people were registered voters or not. And, one of the hardest things to find out...how likely people were to vote. They just called them eligible voters. They had a certain percentage they said had already voted," Vargus said.
The poll gives Ballard 44 percent, Kennedy 33 percent, Libertarian Chris Bowen 2 percent and leaves 21 percent undecided.
The results have a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percent.
Franklin College reports the poll was conducted by telephone from Oct. 29 to Oct. 31.
