Indiana Court of Appeals to Hear Bond Appeal for Shuai
|Bei Bei Shuai
The attorney for the Indianapolis woman facing murder and feticide charges will attempt to get her released on bond.
The Indiana Court of Appeals has agreed to hear arguments in the Bei Bei Shuai case next month.
Previously, a Marion Superior Court judge ruled that she should not be let out of jail while awaiting trial due to strong presumption of guilt.
Some health care groups have expressed outrage over the charges, claiming the Chinese immigrant ingested rat poison to kill herself -- not the fetus. They argue Shuai's prosecution could keep other women from seeking treatment for mental health and other issues.
The Court of Appeals will hear arguments from both sides December 13.
