Bei Bei Shuai

The Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments next week involving an Indianapolis woman accused of swallowing rat poison when she was 33 weeks pregnant.

Attorneys are asking the court whether Bei Bei Shuai, 34, should be released on bond.

Her baby was delivered by C-section on New Years Eve 2010, but died a few days later.

Shuai faces murder and attempted feticide charges.

Defense attorneys argue she was trying to take her own life, not commit murder.

Attorneys on each side will get thirty minutes to make their cases before the court at 1:30 p.m. on Dec.13.
