Super Celebrations Seek To Lure Crowds To Surrounding Area

20 cities and communities near Indianapolis hosting events

The Super Bowl isn't just for Indianapolis. 20 other cities and communities are hosting Super Celebrations in an effort to draw some of the pre big game traffic to their areas.

Columbus, Indiana is among the sites, and Becky Harper with the Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau says many of its Super Celebration events will center around the city's historic houses and buildings. "Columbus is known for it's architecture," Harper says of legendary designs that date to the 1940's. "We're offering architecture tours which usually, during the winter months, we do not offer them."

As is the case with other Super Celebration sites, a "Super Car" will be on display in Columbus, a free community concert is in the works, and Harper says you can also go down the toilet - literally. "The giant toilet bowl, or Super toilet bowl as we're calling it, is part of the Explora House. It helps kids understand the working of a house."

Other cities and areas that are Super Celebration sites include Broad Ripple, Zionsville, Fishers, and Carmel.  Click HERE to see a list of all the Super Celebration sites and what they have to offer.
