Small Compromise on Right to Work

1/13/2012

There appears to be a compromise in the State House on the Right to work issue.

Listen:

Speaker Brian Bosma says House Republicans won't challenge a Democratic amendment next week calling for a referendum on the issue. Bosma made the announcement after meeting with Democratic Rep. Pat Bauer Friday morning.

Right to Work has been a controversial issue in the House and now both sides ironically say a referendum is a victory for Hoosiers. "We'll deal with it and vote on it here and if a majority feel it should be sent to the voters to decide instead of their elected representatives, we'll abide by that and I'm not afraid of the vote!" said Bosma Friday.

Democrats are expected to officially introduce the referendum amendment Tuesday.
