A Marion County Superior Court Judge has ruled against the fines levied against three House Democrats.
Listen:
Judge David Dreyer granted a temporary restraining order to Representatives Vanessa Summers, Shelli VanDenburgh and Bill Crawford Thursday. The order states that the fines imposed by House Republicans over the last two days will still be imposed however, the money won't be deducted from the Democrats' expense checks.
The three Democrats were the only representatives involved in the lawsuit. House Minority Leader Patrick Bauer says others may join the suit after the judge's decision.
Most House Democrats have been absent from the floor for the last two days because of right-to-work legislation. House Speaker Brian Bosma said earlier on Thursday that they would follow a judge's order even if they disagreed with the decision.
