Secretary of State Charlie White's former next door neighbor says he didn't see White living at the home he shared with his then wife after they divorced.
Robert Chilton told prosecutors he would sometimes see White visiting his son at the Fishers address, but believed White had moved out. Tuesday's testimony goes against White's claims that he spent four nights a week living in the basement at the home after his divorce.
Prosecutors argue White falsified voter registration and change of address forms to continue to collect council pay. However, under cross examination, Chilton told White's attorney Carl Brizzi that he never actually saw White move out of the house. Chilton also admitted that his work as a salesman keeps him on the road three nights a week. White faces seven felony charges and could lose his job in addition to getting jail time if convicted.
Prosecutors have called about half of their witnesses. Prosecution testimony continues Wednesday. Trial testimony is expected to run through Friday with closing arguments possibly coming as early as Monday.
