An Indianapolis home that helps veterans transition to being civilians got a a facelift over the weekend.
The Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation (HVAF) offers temporary housing for over 200 veterans who are in need. Volunteers gathered at a home on the west side of Indianapolis Saturday that houses five veterans to give the place some much-needed upgrades.
The work was funded mostly through donations. The work continued through Sunday evening when the residents returned for the unveiling. The HVAF also offers food, clothing, and several recovery programs to veterans.
