IMPD say they have a suspect in last October's smash-and-grab burglary of the Apple store at the Fashion Mall.
Listen:
Detectives say 41-year-old Charlie Jones is a suspect in the burglary where two people made off with over 50-thousand dollars worth of Apple merchandise. IMPD Detective Mike Schollmeier says forensic evidence helped them name Jones as a suspect.
"We got a DNA match off the blood that was left inside the Apple store after the break-in. In the video, you can see that, when the hammer goes through the door, that the suspect cuts himself," Schollmeier says.
Police believe Jones may be a part of a nationwide ring of burglars that target Apple stores. They say Jones's name has been entered into the national crime computer database and if he's arrested anywhere, he'll be extradited back to Indianapolis.
