The Colts hosted a free Lucas Oil Stadium Open House, Mini-Camp Practice and Select-a-seat promotion Wednesday.
Fans had the opporunity to watch the team practice and also purchase season tickets. Team officials say about 3,000 were available and fans were taking advantage. Pat Cobb of Indianapolis says he didn't think he would have the opportunity to buy season tickets. "I was surprised that there were so many available and still in good sections."
He and his wife, Kathy, had season tickets when the team played at the RCA Dome but had to give them up since they had financial considerations with two kids in school. Kathy says it was a conversation with those kids that got them thinking about season tickets. "We were just talking with our kids over the weekend, it's like you know what, if we get a chance to get them again, we better get them now while we can because in a couple of years they're going to be strong again."
Kathy said it was a spur of the moment purchase for her, but Pat may have had other plans, he says the tickets were gifts to each other for their 40th wedding anniversary.
Team officials said about 200 people had purhcased or upgraded their season tickets by early afternoon.
