A cleaning crew working on a home in Anderson discovered a decaying body Thursday afternoon.

RTV6 reports the crew found the body under a blanket and initially thought it was a large doll. As crew members dragged the body out of the room, the victim's head fell off. Anderson Police confirm the victim is a female who appeared to have been dead for at least three months.

The cleaning crew had been hired by the home's owner, who lives in California. The homeowner was planning to lease the house.

The Marion County Coroner will conduct an autopsy Friday at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie to determine a cause of death.
