Police have arrested an Anderson man for allegedly setting fire to the mother of his two-year-old daughter.
38-year-old Jason Webb was involved in an argument with his girlfriend, 27-year-old Ashley Sanders. During the argument, Sanders threw some of Webb's clothing into the back yard in an attempt to keep Webb from leaving. Webb then threw the clothes in the family's swimming pool which Sanders retrieved, threw into a back yard fire pit and went back inside the home.
While Sanders was inside, Webb poured gasoline on the clothing. Sanders returned to the backyard and, not knowing about the gasoline, sat down on clothing. Webb then took a lighter and set the clothing on fire which also set Sanders' clothes on fire. Sanders was taken to an area hospital by a friend with second degree burns to her lower extremities. She has since been released.
Webb is facing one count of criminal recklessness and is being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
