Local and federal fire officials have ruled the three-alarm fire at the 16 Park apartment complex accidental.

The joint investigation between IFD, IMPD and the ATF says there was no evidence of arson at the scene of Friday night's massive fire. IFD Capt. Rita Burris says investigators used heavy equipment to move debri as well as accelerant dogs to search the scene and nothing was found.

The fire scene has now been turned over to private investigators who will be conducting their own investigation over the next several days.
