Police Arrest Suspect in June 30 Stabbing Death

Metro Police have arrested a suspect in the June 30 stabbing death of 56-year-old Thomas Rowley.
IMPD Officer Kendale Adams says 37-year-old Damon Patton was apprehended on the same day in the 3800 block of Kenwood Avenue. After being questioned by detectives, Patton was arrested and charged with murder. Patton is currently being held without bond at the Arrestee Processing Center.
Officer Adams says a Lawrence Police officer was flagged down in the 9200 block of East 42nd Street in the early morning hours of June 30 and was told a man had been stabbed inside a nearby residence. The victim, Rowley, was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital where he later died. Police say a fight may have occurred before the stabbing.
