Republicans Name Ellspermann's Replacement on Ballot for State House
Now that State Representative Sue Ellspermann is the Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor, the Republican Party has chosen a candidate to replace her on the ballot for the Indiana House.
The Republican caucus chose Lloyd Arnold, a former precinct committeeman in Crawford County, to replace Ellspermann on the Republican ticket for state representative in District 74. Arnold says he thinks having less time to prepare for the general election is an advantage. "I know I have fourth months so there's no time to sit back, you know, between the primary and the general election. So right now, it's just now in July but we know we have to hit the ground running. We got to move forward and I believe we can be very successful in the fall."
Arnold says he's already begun meeting with his team to begin his campaign. He says they are going to get started right away on going into the community to meet with voters at various fairs and other public events. Arnold says he also received helpful advice from Ellspermann after Thursday's vote.
Arnold will take on Democratic candidate Mike Schriefer in November.
