Police confiscated 63 marijuana plants, some harvested marijuana and paraphernalia at a home on the southeast side Sunday.
Authorities also seized eight dogs, three cats and the body parts of what appeared to be a half-eaten fourth cat. Metro police dispatched an officer to the 7500 block of Southeastern Avenue on a tip about a marijuana growing operation. The officer found several suspected marijuana plants in plain view outside the home.
Detectives returned to the home with a search warrant and seized the marijuana in addition to two vehicles, a trailer and a riding lawnmower. Police said the suspects were not home during the search, but detectives intend to seek arrest warrants for several narcotic and criminal charges.
Investigators said they have reason to believe children live in the home, so Child Protective Services has been notified.
