The Indiana State Fair is prepping the Pepsi Coliseum for its makeover.
Listen:
Come October, the venue will undergo a two year, $63 million renovation. It'll re-open to the public in time for the 2014 Indiana State Fair. Education Director Justin Armstrong says the last official event before renovation will be for the National FFA Convention. That's slated for October 26th. Construction will begin October 29th.
Armstrong says the revamped coliseum will maintain its old facade, but be more modern inside. Armstrong says it'll have a second floor concourse and the rink and coliseum floor will retain their dimensions. A new arena south of the coliseum is also being built for hockey, livestock and equestrian events. It'll seat upwards of 1000 people.
