A team from Anderson is going to Oregon to compete in the Little League Softball World Series.

Riverfield Little League in Anderson is one of ten teams in this year's competition. Team Manager Tim Landes (LAN-duss) says this is the first time any Anderson team has made the World Series and it's taken a lot of hard work to get to this point. He says the team played better competition in order to become better players and adds that the stars must have lined up their way.

The team has won 15 straight games over the last three weeks. The team will fly to Oregon on August 7th and will play its first game against Raleigh Hills Little League of Oregon on August 9th.

Landes says he hopes to at least make the semi-finals so fans can watch the girls play on ESPN-2. The semi-finals and finals will be broadcast live on that network August 14th and 15th.
