Police are looking for the man who broke into a woman's apartment on the south side of Greenwood and raped her.

The woman awoke around 4:00 Sunday morning to find the man on top of her in her bed, threatening to hurt her and her children if she screamed. The victim says the suspect then raped her for a couple of hours before leaving. She describes her attacker as white, in his 30s, about 5-6 to 5-10 and 150 pounds, with a mustache and goatee and scruffy facial hair. He has tattoos of bricks down one arm and possibly a tiger tail on his lower leg. The victim said he smelled of alcohol and cigarettes and was wearing camoflage cargo shorts, tennis shoes and possibly a plaid shirt.

Police believe the suspect attempted to break into another nearby residence earlier in the night. The suspect is believed to either live in the area or have local ties. Police say the suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.
