Yet another child left in a hot car sends a woman from Noblesville to jail.

Listen:

Police in Fishers say 34-year-old Roni Rose Penn admitted to leaving her four-year-old son in her car at the Super Target near I-69 and 116th Street just after noon on Monday. Penn told officers she left the child in the car for about half an hour because the boy told her he didn't want to go inside the store. The boy was hot and sweaty when he was discovered, but was otherwise okay and was released to his father.

Penn is the latest in of several people charged with leaving their children locked in cars during the summer heat. One of those resulted in the death of a child. 18-year-old Joshua Stryzinski was arrested for the death of his four-month-old daughter in Greenfield earlier this month.
