A routine traffic stop led to an arrest for child molestation Saturday.
Indiana State Police say 27-year-old Christopher Etheridge of Indianapolis was pulled over for a tail light violation on State Road 37 north of Martinsville. After speaking with Etheridge and his female passenger, the State Trooper became suspicious after their stories did not match up.
The trooper discovered the girl was 13-years-old and had met Etheridge online. Etheridge had picked the girl up in Indianapolis and drove her to the Morgan Monroe State Forest where the they allegedly engaged in sexual activity.
Etheridge was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail where he faces a felony charge of child molestation. If convicted, Etheridge could face up to 50 years in prison.
