An easier screening process awaits frequent flyers who are leaving Indianapolis International, as long as they "PreCheck."
Listen:
The TSA's Security PreCheck program has launched in Indianapolis which means that anyone leaving Indy on one of a few major airlines is eligible to be screened before they even show up to the airport. Fingerprint data, a background check, and other information is collected by the TSA, but in exchange, if you are approved, you can keep your shoes and your belt on as you make your way through a less invasive screening before your flight.
TSA Administrator John Pistole says this will make the screening process better and safer. Indianapolis is the 21st airport to get the PreCheck. By the end of the year the program will be in 35 airports nationwide.
The PreCheck is only for domestic flights, though Pistole says they are looking for way to bring the PreCheck to international flights, as well.
