An initiative called 'Be Ready' is gearing up to make sure Hoosier students are prepared for academic success. It's an effort led by the Boys and Girls Club to decrease high school dropout rates.
"Kids in the so-called transition years, 8th to 9th grade, are at most risk of not graduating" according to the executive director of the Boys and Girls Club in Wayne County, Bruce Daggy.
"The program pairs up these kids with a mentor to give them the extra tools needed to graduate" says Daggy.
