Former Indianapolis 500 driver Jerry Grant has died.
He came close, but in ten starts, Grant never won the Indianapolis 500. He had three top ten finishes. Grant was the first driver to turn an official lap faster than 200 miles an hour in an Indy car.
He died Sunday at the age of 77.
