Thousands of Hoosiers are paying their respects to those who died in the Indiana State Fair stage collapse tragedy one year ago.

Listen:

Former Hoosier Andy Barna visited the memorial outside the grandstands Monday. Monday is the one year anniversary of the tragedy. Barna says he visited the fair one day after the tragedy and had to come back this year. He says he wanted to stop by and say a prayer in remembrance.

Indianapolis Resident Bob Lucus says it's a sad situation. He believes it was perhaps one of those freak accidents that happen in life. Lucus says there's no easy way to move on, but people must move forward. Noblesville Resident Erin Souder agrees. Souder says the tragedy serves as a reminder that things happen in life and people should love relatives and friends while they have them.
