A former teacher at Monrovia High School, accused of raping a 16-year-old student, will get 10 years behind bars as part of a 12 year sentence. Daniel Goens coached football and track at the high school.
Goens was charged with rape, and other sex crimes against the teenage student but several days ago, took a plea deal. He was fired by the school in December.
As part of the sentence, Goens must be tested for HIV, and adhere to a "no-contact" order.
