The New Castle Little League team faces possible elimination tonight at 8pm in the Little League World Series. The team will play a team from Fairfield, Connecticut, which represents the New England region, at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The Indiana team is the Great Lakes region representative in the series.
New Castle Coach Tim Porter says there is a lot of pressure to win in the double elimination tournament. Porter says pitching is easier in the winner's bracket because there are fewer games, which means the pitch count stays down.
The team fell to San Antonio, Texas, 13-3, Sunday night. The team that defeated them is on a 17-0 run, since its districts game, including 2-0 at the Little League World Series. Friday, New Castle defeated Oregon 4-0.
