The remnants of Hurricane Isaac but a damper on drag racing events in Indianapolis last weekend, but the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway will take place this weekend.

Courtney Force, daughter of famed dragster John Force and a driver in her own right, says it will be odd going ahead with the event beyond the Labor Day weekend, but says the U.S. Nationals are too important to miss. Force says the event is the biggest in drag racing and can make or break drivers in terms of their points standings and their opportunity to win the year's title championship.

Force is one of the qualifying leaders going into today's racing. She is also one of the eight racers who will compete in the speciallt all star Traxxas Nitro Shoot-Out race to be held today.
