ABATE Wants A Tune Up For Moped Laws

The organization that opposes helmet laws is actually behind a little bit of government intervention when it comes to mopeds.

Jay Jackson, the head of ABATE of Indiana says he knows it might not be popular amongst the moped community, but he says registering these vehicles makes sense.
Jackson says before any plan is in place, lawmakers have to be able to define what the antiquated law calls a "motorized bicycle."
The Indiana Supreme Court recently defined what "maximum design speed" should be for a "motorized bicycle" which Jackson says paves the way for the legislature to pick up this issue in January.
