A candidate for Indiana's House District 23 has suspended his campaign after being arrested on drug dealing charges.
Listen:
52-year old Kerry Worthington of Logansport was charged with dealing cocaine last week. Worthington is accused of selling cocaine to an undercover officer from Worly's Tavern, which he owns, and is across the street from the Sheriff's Department.
Worthington appeared in court on Tuesday where a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. Police say marijuana and cocaine were found in Worthington's possession during his arrest. He faces additional drug-related charges. He faces 6 to 20 years in prison on the cocaine charge alone.
The Democrat's name will remain on the ballot for the November 6th election. His jury trial is set for January 9th.
