Wednesday's International Walk to School Day gave Indianapolis an opening to brag about recent street and sidewalk improvements.
The city's "Rebuild Indy" program has spent 375-million dollars on street and sidewalk repair, including areas around about 100 schools.
City Engineer Andy Lutz welcomed students at I-P-S School 105 on the east side, where crews have fixed cracked sidewalks, painted a crosswalk, and added curb cuts and a bus dropoff circle. Principal Paula Patterson says it's a noticeable improvement.
