City Spotlights Sidewalk Repairs Near Schools

Wednesday's International Walk to School Day gave Indianapolis an opening to brag about recent street and sidewalk improvements.

The city's "Rebuild Indy" program has spent 375-million dollars on street and sidewalk repair, including areas around about 100 schools.
City Engineer Andy Lutz welcomed students at I-P-S School 105 on the east side, where crews have fixed cracked sidewalks, painted a crosswalk, and added curb cuts and a bus dropoff circle. Principal Paula Patterson says it's a noticeable improvement.
