Fusion Centers are collaborative efforts between local, state, and federal police, but a recent U.S. Senate investigation said Fusion was wasteful, and violated civil rights.
Listen:
State Senator Tom Wyss who helps advise Indiana's Fusion Center, says he's proud of them.
Wyss says the investigation only looked at one Fusion Center in Washington D.C. and used outdated information.
Indiana's Fusion Center was started in 2006, and despite keeping a low profile, Wyss says they have had a lot of impact since the program started.
Wyss couldn't give specifics, but he did say that dozens of people have made terrorist watch lists thanks to the collaborative work of the Fusion Centers.
