Major I-69 Ramp Closing for Two Weeks

Road construction will restrict traffic on I-69 beginning Monday.

The looping northbound entrance ramp from 116th Street to northbound I-69 and State Road 37 will be closed for about two weeks as part of an $18 million interchange improvement project.  Motorists exiting from northbound I-69 to 116th Street or State Road 37 will not be affected by this closure.

INDOT will have a signed detour which encourages drivers to go southbound on I-69 to 96th Street, then return to northbound I-69.  Once the ramp reopens, INDOT says access from 116th Street to northbound I-69 is expected to be restricted for an additional 60 days.

INDOT began construction on the northbound side of the interchange earlier this spring.  Work on the northbound side is expected to be finished by the end of this year, then work will begin on the southbound side which is expected to be finished by the end of 2013.
