Construction Worker Injured; Rescued by Rope Rigging
A construction worker was hurt while building the new Neurological Science Center at 15th and Senate.
The worker was hit on the head but because rescue crews wanted to carefully move him, a rope rescue team was called in. IFD's Bonnie Hensley tells us the fire department placed the 50-year-old man in a "stokes basket" as its called--and lifted him from below ground level with ropes rigged to an aerial ladder truck.
He was taken by ambulance to the Methodist Hospital Emergency Department, directly across the street. There is no immediate word on his condition however he was conscious at the time of his rescue.
