IBEW 481 retirees are already gearing up for a Christmas milestone in Indy.

Some 200 retirees and volunteers have been spending this week repairing and replacing hundreds of lights for the 50th Anniversary of the Circle of Lights on Monument Circle. They spent Tuesday checking wires, inspecting sockers and replacing fuses at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The annual display features some 4,784 multi-colored light bulbs.

The actual installation of the centerpiece decor takes place on Monument Circle November 3rd. The actual lights will be turned on Friday, November 23rd. IBEW'S Darrel Fleenor says it's an annual event that allow them to simply provide community service.
