INDOT is nearing the end of this year's construction season.

INDOT spokesman Will Wingfield says they're preparing to open 100 miles of limited access highways across the state. Wingfield says the largest of those projects is the $700 million, I-69 project between Evansville and Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center. He says they're also opening up part of the $331 million Hoosier Heartland Highway that will eventually connect Lafayette, Fort Wayne and Toledo.

Wingfield adds the state is awarding new contracts on the U.S. 31 Hamilton County project. The project will total about $400 million. He says plans also include the Ohio Bridges project. Wingfield says traffic will soon open completely on I-465 Allisonville project. He says the project should be completed in several weeks.
