USPS Predicting Best Holiday Ever
The U.S. Postal Service is expecting its 'Best Holiday Ever'.
The Postmaster General is predicting a nearly 20 percent jump in shipping volume this holiday season. That means postal workers will be handling nearly 18 billion cards, letters and packages to ensure they arrive at intended destinations on time.
“This is one of the most exciting and busiest times of the year for the Postal Service, whether you’re sending a holiday card to Kentucky or military care package to Afghanistan, our employees do what it takes to process and deliver every single one,” said Patrick Donahoe, Postmaster General and chief executive officer.
Indiana spokeswoman Mary Dando urges customers to beat the rush and get those cards and packages in the mail early.
A few important mailing deadlines to keep in mind- November 14th if you are sending parcel military mail, December 3rd for international priority mail and December 10th for priority military mail.
