Police Make Arrest in Homicide Case

Police say fight over relationship led to fatal shooting

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police have made an arrest in the November 6 shooting of 46-year-old Brian Jefferson.

Police say 39-year-old Crystal Nelson of Indianapolis was arrested Friday for the shooting in the 3400 block of North Chester Avenue.  Nelson was arrested after being questioned by detectives at IMPD headquarters.

Officers first found Jefferson laying in the front yard of the home and was rushed to Wishard Memorial Hospital in critical condition.  He was later pronounced dead from his injuries.  Police say a fight over a relationship led to the shooting.

Nelson is currently being held in the Marion County Jail.  She aways formal charges by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
