Community Health Network now has a lot of help in the fight against cancer.
Community is teaming up with the University of Texas based M-D Anderson Cancer Network.
Community's CEO Bryan Mills says it was a pretty rigorous process, trying to get the certification for the joint effort, but he's glad the Doctors at Community North and Community East are now plugged in to a wealth of information when it comes to battling cancer.
Mills says patients may not see a difference, but the partnership will now mean that doctors at Community will be able to discuss patient needs, and treatment with doctors who are tied in to the Cancer Network.
That could mean better treatment options, and a more thorough exam and diagnosis process.
M-D Anderson was ranked number 1 in cancer care by U-S News And World Report. Mills says he is anticipating adding Community's other cancer centers, in Kokomo and Anderson, to the partnership.
