The general public is taking the end of Hostess in stride.

Kroger Spokesman John Elliott says there has not been a mad dash in stores of customers stocking up on Hostess products. He says customers have been sharing nostalgia stories in the aisles about growing up with Wonder Bread and Twinkies, but have not been prompted to buy the last one.

Elliott believes there are enough alternatives from Kroger and other national brands to fill the need. Elliott confirms all deliveries from Hostess have ceased so stores only have the inventory found on the shelves.
