Richmond Hill Resident Thankful For Life

A somber Thanksgiving for residents of the Richmond Hill subdivision.

Listen:

Crime Watch Coordinator Doug Aldridge says despite the recent explosion that killed two and damaged 81 houses, he and many other residents are thankful they're alive.

Aldridge says it's normal yet, strangely quiet in the neighborhood where dozens have lost their homes and made alternate holiday plans. Despite that, Aldridge says he and many other residents are thankful they're alive. He says the community has pulled together with the help of the city, Southport Presbyterian Church and first responders.

Aldridge's home is just steps away from the blast scene and escaped with minor damage. However, he says for the most part, many in the subdivision will basically have to start all over again.
