A day after his annual appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, Santa Claus is ushering in the Christmas season in Indianapolis.
Santa had a full schedule in Indianapolis, stopping first at the Children's Museum, then making his traditional helicopter landing at the State Museum. About 400 kids braved frigid temperatures and brisk winds to point excitedly to the sky as the State Police chopper came into view.
One girl reversed protocol, presenting Santa with a teddy bear as he and Mrs. Claus worked the rope line outside the museum before making their way inside to take gift requests at the museum's Celebration Crossing.
Children petted a live reindeer while awaiting Santa's arrival.
