Metro Police are searching for a man who vandalized an Wayne Township Fire Department vehicle Friday afternoon.

It happened around 5 p.m. at the Alabama Street home of Shane Hardwick, an EMS Operations Officer. Hardwick says he heard a commotion outside his home and found a man striking his car with an axe. The axe became stuck in the door and the suspect took off his pickup truck.

The suspect is described as a white male between 6' and 6'1" with a thin build and a salt and pepper "scruffy" beard.  The man was driving a mid-sized black or navy blue truck with white spray paint on the sides and "think" spray painted on the tailgate.

Hardwick says he had never seen the man before and the incident was the most bizarre thing he'd ever seen.  Anyone with information can contact IMPD.
