The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is hosting a special New Year's event on Monday.
Listen:
It's called the Countdown to Noon where families can come to the Children's Museum and participate in two countdowns at noon and 1 p.m. to celebrate the new year without having to stay up late on New Year's Eve. Museum President and CEO Dr. Jeffrey Patchen says there will be other things to experience besides the countdowns.
"Families will have an opportunity to take a ride down the yule slide, to choose a festive hat or noise maker, celebrate the new year, to visit Jolly Days, an indoor snowball fight and in our Space Quest planetarium we've got a Season of Light presentation that's at 11:30 and 3:30 that's wonderful as well," Patchen says.
Kids can also participate in a special musical performance. They'll be able to write lyrics and melodies with musician Dr. Noise, who will then perform the compositions.
The full event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. but the museum will remain open until five.
