The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is asking for public assistance identifying the man who robbed a Chase Bank branch in the 9900 block of East Washington Street this morning.
A bank employee tells police the man, described as black and about 25 to 30 years of age, passed a note indicating he had a gun and demanding money. A teller handed him an undetermined amount of cash and he drove away in what is believed to have been a red, late model Chevrolet Blazer.
Witnesses also say the man was about 5 feet 7 inches tall, about 160 pounds, wearing an "Elmer Fudd" cap with ear flaps, sunglasses, a baggy black winter coat, blue jeans and work boots.
If you can help, you're asked to call the Task Force at 317-595-400 or Crimestoppers at 317-262-8477 (TIPS). Callers may also text "INDYCS" and tip information to 274627.
