Much of Central Indiana is under a Winter Weather Advisory from 1 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Meteorologist Jason Puma with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis says we could see between 2-3 inches of new snow in Indy through early Tuesday. He says that could bring the month's total up to 17 inches which is snowier than usual but not close to the city's record of 27.5 inches in 1973.
Puma says after this system moves through, not much snow is expected in the near future. However, he says they're expecting typical January weather with cold and dry conditions. He says temperatures will remain below freezing, keeping the snow on the ground for a while.
